Last week I was determined to go to Ikea to buy an Expedit shelf. Col was picking up the kids last week which is unusual these days. Carseats, kids, long boxes just don't work together.
The shelves sat in the hallway with their friend the Hills Hoist (in a box) until the weekend when Col put them together for me. I then unpacked my crates and shifted fabric from other parts of the house to do this...
Fabrics are sorted by type and and then by colour. It's so good to be able to see everything in one place. And having a system means everything has a home.

Oh nice! I so need something like this for my fabrics!
Wow! Looks great!
Yeah! Sooo nice to be organized, isn't it?!
Looks great. I got mine from Amart, slightly cheaper than Ikeas one but exactly the same otherwise. I don't know what I'd do without it.
I have been known to just stand in my room staring at the neatness lol.
My 3 year old just pointed at your fabric and said "Look Mum, heaps!"
Looks beautiful :)
Oooohhhh... prettttttyyyyy! :)
Doesn't that look gorgeous - and yes it does help to choose fabric out to sew with I think.
How about a board with wooden dowel 'pegs' for your thread??
That looks fantastic!!! Would love to have such a resource.
and sure it is handy, but keep an eye on your fabrics which sit longer in the shelf. once I had one that faded in a really short time, since then mine are stored away from sunlight.
You are so organized!Great work!
great job, looks so pretty. I wish I could do that but the dust here is crazy, the downside of living in the "desert" ... hmmm that implies there as an upside, LOL, only joking ;-)
Awesome! My stash has taken over much too much space and I most likely have no idea what I even have any more. This is an inspiration to organize better!!
oh I love my Expedit shelves!!!!! Welcome to organisationland!!
Gorgeous :)
