I've been tagged

Before I participate in this activity, I am going to say a little bit about me. I am not the kind of person who sends on chain letters. I am not actually saying being tagged is quite the same, but there is a sort of similarity. I guess what I am saying is that I don't like picking people. I hate having to single out a few people that I know. Then I am tormented by whether or not I should actually participate because I am not going to tag people.

So enough of my neurotic ramblings.

The lovely Kat of The Beaded Lady has tagged me. Thank you Kat for thinking of me!

Twirly girly

This photo is Moo modeling a skirt and leggings that I made for her friend's birthday. The pattern I used is the fabulous Laguna skirt by Fledge/Studio Tantrum. This photo was taken a year ago. It's amazing. My girl looks similar, but much bigger!

If you'd like to join in...
Here are the rules:

1. Go to the section of your computer where you store all of your photos.

2. Select the 6th folder.

3. Select the 6th photo from that folder.

4. Post and explain about that picture.

5. Tag 6 other people.

Rainbow Sleeve Antonias

Even after making Moo a rainbow Olivia dress and a rainbow sleeve Antonia top, I still had some hand dyed knit left. So I've made a couple of tops for my Etsy shop.

And of course when I went to list them tonight, Etsy is down for maintenance.

Not everything

that comes home from a Steiner school is beautiful.

Meet Willful Wombat

Willful was left in C's car. He brought it inside and asked me what the heck it was as it looked like a turd. I don't think Willful will be here forever. One day he will disappear and go back to Mother Earth.

I'm thinking I'm glad Moo goes to a Steiner school, so it will be a while until she can read what I've written about her creation, and by then perhaps she will see the humour in it.

Is there such a thing...

as too much caffeine???

I love my coffee machine.

Oz Bushfire Appeal shop on Etsy

If you are looking for a presesnt or just want to help out, please also have a look at the Oz Bushfire Appeal shop on Etsy. So many lovely things and yet again it's a win/win, you buy something and that amount is donated to the Red Cross. Postage is also free.

Now I am going to spruik my item that is in the shop...
Tie Dye Heart Jule Spiral hoodie
Tie Dye Jule hoodie back
It's the Farbenmix Jule hoodie. I am sure that I blogged this top before. I absolutely love this top and if it was in Moo's size, I would have kept it. It is a size 110/116 (5/6). I made it when I made a batch of dyed Olivia dresses. I had a bit of fabric left and thought the Jule hoodie would be fun dyed up. This top has an adorable A-line and the awesome spiral hood. It is made out of my favourite cotton/spandex knit which is manufactured here in Australia. The sleeves and hem are lettuce edged.

I have to go hide now. Moo is playing with the keyboard/synthesizer that my father-in-law picked up for the kids at the op shop. It's making my head hurt.

I'm married to the voice of reason

It's officially 12 years today. It's been a great 12 years and even when he tells me that I can't possibly be thinking of going to the US when we need the money for our house extension, I know he is right. It doesn't make me stop plotting of ways to come up with the money. Really I should just blame my friend, Andrew. He's the one who told me Qantas was running a special where kids fly free if you pay for an adult. AND on top of that the flight prices to LA are awesome!

But...here's the BUT...the exchange rate is just plain awful, and I wouldn't be able to shop. I would have to be careful about how much money I spent. I hate that. I think I was spoiled because last time we were in the US the exchange rate was around 90cents.

I must stop watching Rage. It's taunting me. Playing songs that remind me of my youth or at least make me giggle. They played Fight the Power by Public Enemy, and it reminded of me when my friend Brian put my clock purse around his neck ala Flavor Flav. I promise I will go to bed after Pet Shop Boys are on. It's Opportunities which makes me smile.

Proximidade - thank you Sam!

Sam of Jetta's Nest recently gave me this award

Proximidade is described as:
'This blog invests and believes in PROXIMITY - nearness in space, time and relationships. These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes for self-aggrandizement! Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers!'

This blog award should be sent to your favorite eight bloggers and they, in turn should forward to eight of their favorites. You should include the text for Proximidade (above) in your announcement blog.

I was really floored by this. I never expect anything like this. I basically blog to keep myself accountable. I like being able to look back at what I've been doing. After years of working when my creativity felt stifled, I am loving the freedom that I have now. MY blog is a tiny celebration of that. If only I had the gift of poetic prose, but alas there was a reason I majored in chemistry!

Oh gosh, I wrote this post almost a month ago!

Rainbows, rainbows everywhere!

Yes, I dye a lot of rainbows. I like rainbows. I love the way the colours go together. Most little girls that I know love rainbows. Moo goes to a Steiner (Waldorf) school, and rainbows are big there.

There was the pile of hand dyed cotton/spandex knit. It was an accident, but from it has come....

In the photo of the rainbow sleeve Antonia you can see Farbenmix Paula pants. Mollie is wearing her second pair. She had outgrown the first. I also make them for my Etsy shop and market stall. I don't make them very often as they take me a while to make. The photo of the rainbow pants and top is a bit OTT, but I wanted to take some photos and I needed to photograph both items. Check out Moo doing some poses. *giggle*
